Focus and Scope

Sri Lanka Journal of Forensic Medicine, Science and Law is a peer reviewed and an approved journal publication of the University of Peradeniya. It is published bi-annually and managed by the Department of Forensic Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya Sri Lanka.

It aims to:

Disseminate research findings, case reports and technical notes in the areas of forensic medicine, forensic science and relevant law for the Sri Lankan and international audience;

Make available a platform for forensic practitioners in Sri Lanka to publish their work;

Educate the medico-legal practitioners of new knowledge and skills so that they will utilize them in their work related to justice administration; and

Develop a research and writing culture among forensic community in Sri Lanka.

The journal will include articles involved in the fields of Forensic Medicine, Forensic Sciences & Law and Ethics as applied to forensic practice. It will include original research articles, case reports and technical notes.

Articles submitted to the journal are deposited with Crossref and the articles are screened by Crossref Similarity Check.

Publication Frequency

The journal publishes two issues per annum.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving Policy

This journal is available for LOCKSS harvesting, to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. See LOCKSS harvesting start page.
